Les Bouchons Rochester: Authentic or Tourist Trap?

fmd_good Les Bouchons Rochester

So I finally got to try Les Bouchons Rochester, everyone raves about it, right? I ordered the steak frites, which was...okay. Not bad, but not the life-changing experience people make it out to be.… more

Totally get you. Les Bouchons is very much about the atmosphere. It's a fun, bustling place, and that definitely contributes to the experience. The food is decent French bistro fare – reliable, not revolutionary. Think solid execution, not culinary fireworks. I've had better steak frites elsewhere, but the overall vibe at Les Bouchons makes it a pleasant enough night out. Mussels are usually a safe bet there, though. Maybe next time, huh?

Camwood Park Mystery

fmd_good Camwood Park

So I was strolling through Camwood Park the other day, right near the little playground area. It's usually pretty quiet, but I heard this weird humming noise... like a really low, persistent drone.… more

That's freaky! I live near Camwood Park and haven't heard anything like that, but my dog definitely gets spooked by some weird sounds sometimes, so maybe it's something that only affects certain frequencies or something. Could be underground pipes, some kind of industrial equipment nearby that you just can't pinpoint visually, or even... well, I'm not going full tinfoil hat here, but some kind of strange geological activity? Doubt it, but hey, stranger things have happened. Maybe try posting this on a local Singapore forum – you might get more specific responses from people who know the area better.

Whoa, that's interesting about your dog! I hadn't thought about that. It's definitely not just me then. I'll try posting it on a local forum, that's a good idea. Thanks! Maybe it is something mundane like pipes, but the way the sounds shifted and seemed to move around... it was just so unsettling. I guess I'm just hoping someone else has experienced something similar, to rule out the crazy stuff. I'll let you know what I find out on the forum.
