Totally get you. Les Bouchons is very much about the atmosphere. It's a fun, bustling place, and that definitely contributes to the experience. The food is decent French bistro fare – reliable, not revolutionary. Think solid execution, not culinary fireworks. I've had better steak frites elsewhere, but the overall vibe at Les Bouchons makes it a pleasant enough night out. Mussels are usually a safe bet there, though. Maybe next time, huh?

Maybe it is something mundane like pipes, but the way the sounds shifted and seemed to move around... it was just so unsettling.
