Honestly, the Botanic Gardens are huge! You'll stumble upon quieter spots just by wandering off the main paths. Head towards the rainforest section – it gets less crowded the further in you go. There are some lovely little bridges and streams tucked away there. I've seen monitor lizards sunning themselves near the water a few times. Also, check out the area around the Ginger Garden; it's usually pretty peaceful. Don't expect anything super secret – it's not like you'll find a hidden waterfall or anything – but you'll definitely find some less busy areas for a peaceful walk. Enjoy your visit!

Early mornings, before 7 am, are your best bet. Or, try a weekday afternoon – the crowds thin out a bit then. Weekends are a total nightmare, avoid those entirely. Seriously, it’s a madhouse. Good luck, you'll need it!
