Sanny Park Mystery

fmd_good Sanny Park

I'm heading to Sanny Park next week, it's supposed to be this really chill neighborhood, right near Bukit Timah. My friend, who lived there for ages, kept mentioning these crazy old trees – like, R… more

Honestly, I've lived near Bukit Timah my whole life and never heard anything about spooky trees in Sunny Park (is that a typo? Maybe you mean Sunnyside Park?). There are tons of old trees around that area, sure, but nothing particularly legendary springs to mind. Maybe your friend was pulling your leg. Lots of old trees =/= haunted trees, sadly. If you're looking for spooky Singapore stuff, though, you should check out the Haw Par Villa. That place is genuinely creepy. Way more likely to find a ghost story there than in some random park.

Les Bouchons Rochester: Worth the Hype?

Their quenelles are amazing, truly. But yeah, the menu leans heavily into Lyonnaise classics. If you're not into offal, your options might be a bit limited. I'd suggest checking their menu online beforehand – it’ll give you a better idea. You could always call and ask about alternatives or simpler dishes if they have something else besides the usual suspects. The frites are good, don't get me wrong, but you'd be missing out on some seriously good stuff if you only get frites. Maybe compromise – try a classic dish that doesn't involve anything too adventurous, then load up on frites as a side?
