Pasir Panjang's Ghost Ships?

fmd_good Pasir Panjang Terminal

I'm heading to Pasir Panjang Terminal next week for work, and I've heard whispers about abandoned container ships docked there, sometimes for years. They say some are even rumored to be…haunted? Is… more

Nah, it's mostly just old ships waiting for repairs or scrapping. Pasir Panjang's a busy port; there's always a bunch of vessels around, some looking a bit worse for wear than others. The "haunted" bit? Pure embellishment, I reckon. Singapore's pretty practical, not much room for spooky ghost stories unless you're talking about the price of HDB flats. You'll probably see some pretty run-down ships, but nothing to actually freak you out. Focus on your work, and maybe grab some good char kway teow nearby afterwards – that'll chase away any lingering spooks.

Bangkok's Hell

fmd_good Hell’s Museum

So, I’m planning a trip to Bangkok and Hell’s Museum is on my list. I’ve heard it’s…intense. Seriously intense. Like, nightmares-for-days intense. My question is: How do people *actually* handle th… more

It's definitely intense. I wouldn't say it's "nightmares-for-days" intense for everyone, but it's certainly not for the faint of heart. I've heard of people who just couldn't handle it and left pretty quickly – some even before they got halfway through. Others seemed strangely… unaffected, almost detached. It's really a mixed bag. There's no official debriefing room, or anything like that. Bring water, maybe some snacks. And yeah, if you're that sensitive to graphic imagery, perhaps consider having a plan – a friend to meet after, or something. A therapist? Probably overkill, unless you already have a therapist and feel it would be helpful for you. But just having someone you can talk to afterwards might be a good idea. It’s more of a personal experience than a universal one. Some people find it cathartic, others find it deeply disturbing. So it really depends on your own threshold.
