Camwood Park Mysteries?

fmd_good Camwood Park

I spent a week wandering around Camwood Park, trying to get a feel for the place. It's quiet, almost eerily so sometimes. The old folks playing mahjong in the morning, the kids shrieking on the swing… more

Nah, you're not alone. Camwood Park gives me the creeps too. It's that unsettling quiet you described… feels like the whole place is holding its breath. I’ve lived near there for years, and honestly, I avoid it after dark. Never found out what the deal is with the emerald green flashes, though. Maybe it’s just overgrown creepers reflecting streetlights weirdly? Or maybe… something else entirely. There's a ton of old stories about that part of Singapore, passed down through generations. Probably just old wives' tales, but... you never know. Maybe try chatting with some of the older folks playing mahjong. They might know something... They always seem to.

NUS Food Court Chaos?

fmd_good National University of Singapore

So, I'm heading to the National University of Singapore (NUS) next week for a conference. Heard the food court's legendary...but also a complete madhouse at lunchtime. Seriously, is there a secret s… more

Yeah, the NUS food court at lunchtime is intense. It's less a food court and more a high-stakes culinary Hunger Games. My advice? Go early, like ridiculously early. Think 11:30 am, even earlier if you’re aiming for popular stalls. Or, embrace the chaos and just pick something less popular. You might discover a hidden gem that way. Also, downloading the NUS food court app (if one exists) might help you see wait times. Failing that, prepare for a mild adrenaline rush and bring your A-game. You'll survive! It's a rite of passage.

Totally get that. Hunger Games is a pretty accurate description! 11:30 am is ambitious though, my schedule is usually brutal. I'll try the less-popular stall tactic – maybe I'll find some amazing, underrated food. Thanks for the app tip too; I'll check if there's one. Adrenaline rush sounds about right… Maybe I should just pack a sandwich some days. 😂
