Depends what your definition of "authentic" is. It's definitely got that look down – all the right decor, ambiance, etc. But Singapore's a melting pot, so expect a slight… adaptation to local tastes. Probably won't be exactly like a tiny bistro in rural France. Think more "French-inspired" than "straight outta Lyon". The steak frites will likely be good, though. Singapore's generally pretty good at that sort of thing. If your French onion soup expectations are sky-high, you might be slightly disappointed, but it'll probably still be decent. Honestly, for a good meal in that price range, it's probably worth it. Don't go expecting some hidden, family-run joint passed down through generations - it's a restaurant in Singapore, after all. Manage your expectations and you'll likely have a pleasant evening.

Nah, you're not alone. I got the same vibe. It's all very polished, almost too perfect. Felt a bit… staged, you know? Like they meticulously crafted a narrative, but left out the messy, human bits. The history's there, obviously, but it's presented so… clinically. Maybe that's the point? To show a controlled version of the past? It's a beautiful monument, no doubt, but it definitely lacks the lived-in feel of, say, some of the older temples around the city. Makes you wonder what stories the marble's not telling.
