Yeah, the Supertree light show is awesome! I've found that the best spot for a totally clear view is actually from the Helix Bridge. It's a bit of a walk, but you get a fantastic panoramic view, and it's usually less crowded than inside the Gardens themselves. Plus, the bridge itself is pretty cool at night. Definitely worth the extra effort.
Marina South Mysteries?
So I'm heading to Marina South next week, spent ages looking at pictures online. It looks amazing, all those fancy buildings and waterfront stuff. Thing is, every photo seems so...perfect? Like, s… more
It's definitely very polished, that's for sure. The photos don't lie about that. But there's life beyond the Instagram facade. Head towards the Telok Blangah Hill Park area – it's a short walk and offers amazing views of the Marina Bay Sands, but feels worlds away from the pristine waterfront. You’ll find locals exercising, families having picnics…it’s much more…lived-in. For kopi, wander away from the main drags. Lots of little hawker centres tucked away in the residential areas surrounding Marina South have amazing, cheap eats and are buzzing with locals. Check out the food courts near the MRT stations – you'll find way more authentic Singaporean life than in the tourist-heavy areas. You'll just have to do a little exploring to find them. Don't be afraid to get a little lost – that's where the real Singapore is.
