Totally get you. The orchids were incredible, seriously jaw-dropping. I could've spent all day there. But yeah, the gift shop was a bit of a letdown. Felt like an afterthought, almost. Such a contrast to the grandeur of the gardens. Maybe they should invest in a bigger, more impressive shop – something that matches the amazing quality of the orchids themselves. It's a shame, because it slightly mars an otherwise perfect experience.

Yeah, there are definitely some green spaces around NUH. It's not exactly sprawling gardens, more like thoughtfully placed little courtyards and quiet spots. Think less "lush jungle," more "peaceful pockets." They're small, but they do offer a break from the hospital vibe. I wouldn't call them secret, though – they're pretty easy to find if you just wander around a bit. Bringing a book of poems is a great idea. Good luck with your procedure!
