Yeah, those hidden beaches definitely exist. Don't trust the durian guy's grumpiness; it's a Singaporean thing. Think less "secret cove" and more "challenging-to-access-but-totally-worth-it". You'll need to do some serious exploring off the main paths, maybe even a bit of scrambling over rocks. Look for gaps in the coastal vegetation – sometimes it’s just a tiny trail leading down. And be prepared for the possibility of disappointment! Sometimes the "secret" is just a small, rocky outcrop. But hey, the hunt itself is half the fun, isn't it? Good luck!

Probably nothing. Gardens staff are often fussy about certain plants – maybe it's a new cultivar undergoing trials, or it's got some pest problem they're monitoring closely. Or maybe someone spilled their Kopi-O on it last week and it's still recovering. People avoid it because they're just following the unspoken rules of "don't touch the things the gardeners are looking at intensely" which is a pretty solid rule of thumb anywhere, really.
