Ugh, Value Hotel wifi is notorious. I stayed there last year – pre-flight, same story. Total snail pace. My suggestion? Head to the airport itself. Most terminals have free wifi, and it's usually much faster and more reliable than anything you'll find in those budget hotels near Changi. Plus, you can grab a decent coffee while you work. It's a small inconvenience, but better than burning through your data roaming.
