NUS Food Court Chaos?

fmd_good National University of Singapore

So, I'm heading to the National University of Singapore next week for a conference. Heard the food court there is legendary...but also a complete and utter madhouse at lunchtime. Seriously, people sa… more

Haha, yeah, the NUS food court at lunchtime is… intense. It's less Hunger Games and more a well-oiled machine of efficient chaos. My advice? Go slightly before peak. Like, 11:30 instead of 12:30. Makes a huge difference. Also, explore the smaller stalls tucked away – they often have amazing food and WAY shorter queues. Don't be afraid to venture beyond the main drag. The views from the Benjamin Sheares Bridge are pretty spectacular at night, no doubt. However, some of the best photo spots are on the bridge itself, and they involve being pretty high up. If heights really bother you, you'll probably be happier viewing it from afar. There are plenty of parks and areas along the waterfront where you can get decent shots without having to feel like you're about to take flight. Maybe check out the Esplanade – the views from there are also amazing, and it's definitely much more ground-level. You'll still get a killer shot of the bridge!
