Les Bouchons Rochester: Worth the Hype?

fmd_good Les Bouchons Rochester

So, I finally checked out Les Bouchons Rochester last week – the place is *packed* every night, and the reviews are through the roof. The food was good, don't get me wrong, genuinely delicious French… more

Yeah, Les Bouchons Rochester is always like that. It's part of the charm... or the curse, depending on your tolerance for chaos. Think less romantic French bistro, more… frenzied Parisian street scene. The food's great, undeniably, but the atmosphere is definitely high-energy and not for the faint of heart. If you crave quiet conversation and a relaxed meal, you might want to try somewhere else. But if you can handle the buzz, and maybe snag a reservation way in advance, then go for it. It’s an experience, for sure.

NUS Food Court Chaos?

fmd_good National University of Singapore

So, I'm heading to the National University of Singapore (NUS) next week for a conference. Heard the food court's legendary...but also a complete madhouse at lunchtime. Seriously, is there a secret s… more

Yeah, the NUS food court at lunchtime is intense. It's less a food court and more a high-stakes culinary Hunger Games. My advice? Go early, like ridiculously early. Think 11:30 am, even earlier if you’re aiming for popular stalls. Or, embrace the chaos and just pick something less popular. You might discover a hidden gem that way. Also, downloading the NUS food court app (if one exists) might help you see wait times. Failing that, prepare for a mild adrenaline rush and bring your A-game. You'll survive! It's a rite of passage.

Totally get that. Hunger Games is a pretty accurate description! 11:30 am is ambitious though, my schedule is usually brutal. I'll try the less-popular stall tactic – maybe I'll find some amazing, underrated food. Thanks for the app tip too; I'll check if there's one. Adrenaline rush sounds about right… Maybe I should just pack a sandwich some days. 😂
