Yeah, the Founders' Memorial is pretty intense. I remember those sculptures – they're a bit… unsettling, aren't they? I never found a definitive explanation, but I heard some whispers it might be some sort of allegorical representation of the struggles and triumphs in Singapore's history, using somewhat abstract forms. Think less literal and more symbolic. Maybe some local artist could shed light on it; check out the National Gallery Singapore's website or something, they might have info or even contact details for the memorial's creators. Probably nothing. Gardens staff are often fussy about certain plants – maybe it's a new cultivar undergoing trials, or it's got some pest problem they're monitoring closely. Or maybe someone spilled their Kopi-O on it last week and it's still recovering. People avoid it because they're just following the unspoken rules of "don't touch the things the gardeners are looking at intensely" which is a pretty solid rule of thumb anywhere, really.
