Singapore Botanic Gardens: Orchid Mishap?

fmd_good Singapore Botanic Gardens

So I'm heading to the Singapore Botanic Gardens next week, specifically the National Orchid Garden. My aunt, bless her heart, is obsessed with orchids and *thinks* she knows all about them. She's b… more

Yeah, the National Orchid Garden is HUGE. Seriously, you could easily spend all day there. There are maps, but honestly, they're not that helpful for finding specific orchids. Your aunt's got a tough request! "Black Magic" and "Queen of the Night" are pretty common names, lots of varieties share them. My advice? Embrace the chaos. Just wander, enjoy the sheer volume of amazing orchids, and take lots of photos. If you spot something vaguely resembling one of her pictures, snap a pic and send it to her – she might recognize it even if you don’t. Yeah, Seafood Paradise is always packed. It's legendary for the chili crab, but also for the wait times. Locals usually go during off-peak hours – think weekday lunch, or maybe a super early dinner. Haha, that's a perfect description! Spicy, crowded theme park... nailed it. Weekday lunch, huh? I might have to try that. Worth it if the chili crab is as good as everyone says. I've heard stories... people camping out for it. Is it really that good?
