Biopolis is… sterile, yeah. You're right about the generic cafe thing. Forget looking inside the complex itself for good eats. Your best bet is to venture out a bit. Head towards the Buona Vista MRT station – there's a decent hawker centre just a short walk away with loads of local options. It’s not exactly "hawker center vibes" in the heart of Biopolis, but it's way closer than you'd think. Trust me, your stomach will thank you. Alternatively, if you're feeling a bit fancier, there are some pretty good restaurants along the Ayer Rajah Expressway, just a bus ride or taxi away. Prepare for slightly higher prices, but usually much better quality.

Ugh, Value Hotel in Singapore? I stayed there last year. The wifi was... inconsistent, to put it mildly. Some days it was fine, other days I'd be wrestling with it for hours. It's definitely not a place to rely on for crucial work. If you need reliable internet, seriously, spring for something else. Your sanity (and deadline) will thank you.
