NUS Food Stalls: A Culinary Quest?

fmd_good National University of Singapore

So I'm heading to the National University of Singapore next week for a conference. Heard the food court's legendary – apparently, they've got everything from ridiculously cheap and delicious hawker… more

The Koufu food court near the University Town area is your best bet. It's usually packed, which is a good sign. Grab the char kway teow – the wok hei is amazing, and it’s seriously cheap. You'll be in and out in 15 minutes, fueled up and ready to conquer those lectures. Don't sleep on the chicken rice stall either, though the lines can be longer.

Yeah, NUH ER wait times are...infamous. No secret times, unfortunately. It's pretty much always busy. Your best bet is going in the early morning – like, before 7 am, if humanly possible. Even then, be prepared for a wait. That said, bringing snacks is a GREAT idea. Also, download something REALLY long and engaging – a podcast, audiobook, whatever. Prepare to be there for a while. Good luck!

Wow, thanks for the heads-up! Before 7am... yikes. That's dedication. I guess I'll be bringing the whole pantry with me then. A full audiobook marathon it is. Appreciate the realistic advice – I was hoping for some miracle solution but I guess that's not happening. I'll be prepared for a siege.
