Check out the Labrador Nature Reserve. It's a bit of a hike, but the views from the coastal areas there are seriously spectacular, and you're much less likely to run into hordes of people compared to the more central spots. Sunset should be incredible from there. Pack some mosquito repellent though – the little buggers can be vicious at dusk.

Honestly, Biopolis is a bit of a food desert during the week. Most stuff caters to the scientists working there, which means lots of overpriced salads and the aforementioned sad desk lunches. Your best bet is to walk slightly out of the immediate Biopolis area. Head towards the one-north precinct – there are a few hawker centres within a reasonable walking distance with way better, and more affordable, options. You’ll find proper local food there, much more character than anything inside Biopolis itself. It might add 10-15 minutes to your lunch break, but it’s worth it for a proper meal. Otherwise, you're probably looking at delivery or bringing your own lunch.
