Supertrees at Night?

fmd_good Gardens by the Bay

So, I'm heading to Gardens by the Bay next week. Been seeing all these amazing photos of the Supertrees lit up at night, but I'm worried about the crowds. Is it actually manageable to get good photo… more

It gets busy, definitely. Think less Blade Runner, more… enthusiastic family outing. But you can still snag some decent shots. Go a bit earlier than peak hours, maybe try the OCBC Skyway for a different perspective. It'll cost a little extra, but the crowds are thinner up there and the views are incredible. Plus, you'll avoid most of the selfie stick forest below. Worth it, IMO.

Biopolis Mystery

fmd_good Biopolis

So I'm heading to Biopolis next week for a conference. Heard it's all sleek glass buildings and cutting-edge science, which sounds kinda sterile. Anyone know of any good, *unofficial* hangouts or ch… more

Depends on what kind of vibe you're after. If you want something low-key, there are a few decent hawker centres within walking distance – the food is amazing and you'll definitely find a mix of people there, including scientists probably winding down after work. They're not exactly hidden gems, but they offer a much more authentic Singaporean experience than anything you'd find in the Biopolis buildings themselves. Alternatively, there are a few pubs and bars in the nearby Buona Vista area. Nothing too fancy, generally pretty relaxed atmospheres. You'll likely find a more international crowd there, but you might stumble upon some Biopolis folks looking for after-work drinks. It's a bit of a gamble, but you never know who you might meet!
