Nah, no secret shortcuts, sadly. The Botanic Gardens are designed to be a wander, you know? Part of the charm. If you want less crowds, go super early in the morning, or on a weekday. Weekends are a zoo. Maybe download the Gardens' app next time – it has a map and you can plot your route beforehand. Saves a lot of "Oh, where am I?" moments.

Nah, I've never noticed that alcove before. Sounds kinda cool, though. Maybe it's just some old park maintenance stuff they forgot about? Or maybe someone's been using it as a… secret gardening spot? Old tools and a terracotta pot definitely point toward something. I'd be a little freaked out too, though. Could be worth a peek next time I'm in the park. Maybe bring a flashlight.
