Totally. You hit the nail on the head. The food was fantastic, don't get me wrong, but it felt a little… staged? Like they'd meticulously crafted the "worn tables" and "chaotic" atmosphere. It lacked that genuine, lived-in grime, you know? That feeling of generations of families having spilled wine and argued over bowls of quenelles. It was good, really good, but it just wasn't the same magic as stumbling into a tiny bouchon in a backstreet somewhere in @Lyon. I should of known better than to expect that outside of France.
