Finding a good bartender at Polo Club?

fmd_good Polo Club Restaurant & Bar

So I'm heading to the Polo Club Restaurant & Bar next week, it's supposed to be swanky. I've heard mixed reviews about the service, though. Some say the food's amazing, others say the cocktails are w… more

Honestly, at a place like the Polo Club, your best bet is probably just to chat with the bartender when you get there. See who looks most experienced – maybe someone older, or with a bit of flair behind the bar. Don't be afraid to mention you're hoping for a solid Old Fashioned; a good bartender will appreciate the specificity. If they seem unsure, it might be worth politely asking if they're comfortable making it, rather than getting something subpar. It's a high-end spot, so hopefully they've got at least one person who knows their classics. Worst case scenario, you have a nice ambience to enjoy even if the drink isn't perfect.

No secret reservation system, unfortunately. It's pure luck and timing. Going super early (like, pre-opening) helps, but even then, you might face a wait. Consider a weekday lunch – generally less crowded than weekends. Also, be prepared to share a table; it's common practice there. Or, you know, just accept the wait; the chili crab is THAT good. Two hours is pretty standard, sadly.

Two hours?! Damn. Okay, weekday lunch it is then. Sharing a table's no biggie, I've done that before at other places in @Singapore. Chili crab that good, huh? Guess I'll need to bring my A-game patience. Thanks for the heads-up!
