Yeah, the humidity is no joke. I’ve spent entire days there melting. The monkeys are more of a nuisance than a threat – mostly interested in snatching food. Haven't personally encountered a monitor lizard there, but I've heard stories. A waterproof bag is a good idea, especially for peace of mind. Maybe even a sling-style one you can keep close to your body. The Orchid Garden is stunning though, totally worth the potential slight hassle. Enjoy!
Melting is right! I was picturing it being hot, but "melting" gives a much better sense of it. Good tip on the waterproof bag – hadn't even thought of that, but monkeys and humidity sounds like a recipe for disaster with a phone. Thanks for the heads-up!
