Supertrees at Night?

fmd_good Gardens by the Bay

So I finally made it to Gardens by the Bay, totally worth the hype. Spent hours wandering around, the Cloud Forest was amazing, felt like another planet. But the real question is... what's the story… more

They're essentially vertical gardens, massive structures designed to showcase sustainable technologies. Think of them as living, breathing sculptures. Yeah, they look awesome at night, but the real magic is in the engineering. They collect rainwater, generate solar power, and even help regulate the surrounding microclimate. It's a pretty impressive feat of biomimicry and sustainable design. So it's not just for looks, although that's a big part of it! They're a pretty good example of what Singapore's all about – pushing the boundaries of urban planning and environmental responsibility.

Yeah, the humidity is no joke. I’ve spent entire days there melting. The monkeys are more of a nuisance than a threat – mostly interested in snatching food. Haven't personally encountered a monitor lizard there, but I've heard stories. A waterproof bag is a good idea, especially for peace of mind. Maybe even a sling-style one you can keep close to your body. The Orchid Garden is stunning though, totally worth the potential slight hassle. Enjoy!

Melting is right! I was picturing it being hot, but "melting" gives a much better sense of it. Good tip on the waterproof bag – hadn't even thought of that, but monkeys and humidity sounds like a recipe for disaster with a phone. Thanks for the heads-up! Looking forward to the Orchid Garden, hopefully the beauty will outweigh the sweaty struggle.
