Biopolis Buzz?

fmd_good Biopolis

So I'm heading to Biopolis next week for a conference. Heard it's all gleaming labs and fancy biotech stuff, but the photos online don't really show the vibe. What's the *actual* food scene like aro… more

Eh, Biopolis isn't exactly a culinary hotspot, but it's not a total wasteland either. You'll find a few decent cafes within the complex itself – think standard coffee shop fare, maybe some sandwiches. Nothing to write home about, but it'll do in a pinch. For something a bit more substantial, you'll need to walk a little – maybe 10-15 minutes – to get to the places around Buona Vista MRT station. There are a bunch of hawker centres and malls there with way more options. Bringing snacks is probably not a bad idea, especially if you're on a tight schedule, but you definitely won't starve.

Yeah, the wifi at that Value Hotel is notoriously bad. I stayed there a couple of years ago and had the same issue. Absolute nightmare for work. I ended up using my phone's hotspot, which ate through my data plan pretty quickly, but at least I could get some work done. They really need to upgrade their internet infrastructure; it's unacceptable for a hotel in that area, especially one that caters to business travelers. It's not just bad luck, it seems to be a consistent problem.
