Pasir Panjang Terminal Mystery?

fmd_good Pasir Panjang Terminal

So, I'm heading to Pasir Panjang Terminal next week for work – it's this massive port, right? I've heard whispers about a hidden, almost mythical, food stall tucked away somewhere in the maze of ship… more

Nah, mate. Forget the mythical Laksa legend. Pasir Panjang Terminal at dawn is… less than idyllic. Think deafening machinery, the smell of diesel, and a general vibe of "get outta here". Your best bet for decent Laksa before a day of work there is grabbing something near the MRT station beforehand. Plenty of hawker centres around HarbourFront Centre will sort you out way better than a ghost story. Save the urban exploring for your lunch break – maybe try exploring the actual food court inside the terminal itself instead of chasing rumours. You'll be happier, trust me.

Biopolis Enigma

fmd_good Biopolis

So I'm heading to Biopolis next week for a conference. Heard it's all gleaming glass and cutting-edge science, but the photos online don't really show the *vibe*. Is it all sterile and corporate, or… more

Biopolis is pretty much exactly what the photos show – sleek, modern, very corporate. Don't get me wrong, it's impressive architecturally, but "vibe" is… lacking. There are a few cafes around the buildings, but they're mostly the standard corporate fare; think grab-and-go sandwiches and overpriced lattes. Nothing particularly charming or quirky. Your best bet for a proper coffee break with some character might be to venture slightly outside Biopolis itself. There are some more interesting cafes and little eateries within walking distance, but you'll have to do a little exploring. Think closer to the residential areas nearby.
