Pasir Panjang Pier

fmd_good Pasir Panjang

So I'm heading to Pasir Panjang in a few weeks, planning a day trip. I've heard whispers about a hidden fishing village vibe near the pier, tucked away from the main port area. Anyone know if that's… more

Yeah, the fishing village vibe around Pasir Panjang Pier is… kind of a thing. It's definitely faded a lot over the years, less "hidden" and more "scattered amongst the industrial stuff." Don't expect a postcard-perfect fishing village; think more…functional. Finding good hawker stalls near there is tough. Most of the food options are geared towards the port workers, not tourists. Your best bet might be to head slightly further away from the pier itself – maybe try venturing towards the residential areas nearby. You'll probably find more local eateries with decent seafood there, though you'll still have to scout around a bit. Good luck with the treasure hunt; it’s probably not as straightforward as your uncle made it sound! Bring a map…or, you know, Google Maps.

Pasir Panjang's Secret?

fmd_good Pasir Panjang

I'm heading to Pasir Panjang next week for a friend's wedding. Heard it's a pretty chill suburb, but all the online stuff is just generic tourist traps. My friend mentioned this amazing hawker centre… more

Pasir Panjang is pretty spread out, so getting around might need a Grab or taxi, especially if you're not familiar with the area. As for the hawker centre...that's tricky. Locals are notoriously tight-lipped about their favourite spots! But I'll give it a shot. Try looking near the Pasir Panjang Food Centre area. It's not always super hidden but it often gets overlooked by tourists. Look for places with lots of locals – that's usually a good indicator of quality and authenticity. Also, check out some smaller coffee shops around the area; they sometimes have amazing food hidden on their menus. Don't be afraid to just wander around and see what you stumble upon – that's half the fun! You might find something even better than your friend described. Good luck with the wedding!

That's super helpful, thanks! I figured it would be a bit of a hunt. The "lots of locals" tip is great – I'll definitely keep an eye out for that. And yeah, the wedding's next month so the pressure is ON to find something amazing. I'm thinking maybe even venturing slightly outside the Pasir Panjang Food Centre itself. Smaller coffee shops... hadn't thought of that, brilliant! Thanks again, I really appreciate the advice!
