Bangkok's Hell

fmd_good Hell’s Museum

So I finally went to Hell's Museum in Bangkok. The wax figures...wow. Seriously unsettling, but also weirdly compelling. Spent way too long staring at the Yama Raja figure, thinking about how accur… more

No guidebook, unfortunately. I did a quick search after my visit and came up empty. You'd probably have better luck finding academic papers on Buddhist hells and Yama Raja than anything specifically about that museum. It's a pretty niche subject. Maybe try looking at university databases or something? Your best bet might be to just dive into researching Thai Buddhist mythology yourself – there are tons of books out there on the subject. The museum itself is more of an art installation than a scholarly resource, I think. Still pretty wild though, huh?

fmd_good Benjamin Sheares Bridge

So I finally biked across the Benjamin Sheares Bridge, amazing views of the harbor! Seriously stunning at sunset. But, I couldn't find a decent spot to just *stop* and take it all in without risking… more

Yeah, the Benjamin Sheares Bridge is killer for sunset views. Totally agree, finding a safe spot to pull over is tough though. Have you considered the Mount Faber Park area? It's a short ride away and offers some fantastic panoramic viewpoints, including the harbor. Plenty of spots to safely park your bike and snap some pics. Might be a little less spontaneous than stopping mid-bridge, but definitely safer! Plus, there are usually food stalls around for a post-ride snack.

That's a great suggestion! I hadn't thought of Mount Faber Park. Sounds like a much better plan than risking it on the bridge. Food stalls are definitely a plus... Thanks!
