Honestly? The chicken rice stall near the Engineering faculty. It's usually pretty close to the main entrances, and it's consistently good. Skip the fancy stuff – you're there for a conference, not a culinary adventure. Efficient, tasty, and you'll be back to your presentations in a flash.

Yeah, the wifi at Value Hotel Bukit Timah is notoriously bad. I've heard complaints about it for ages. Rain dance, huh? Points for effort! Seriously though, I wouldn't count on it improving. Your best bet is to just use your mobile data or maybe see if they have an ethernet port in the room – a long shot, I know, but worth checking. If you're going back next month, consider bringing a portable wifi hotspot; that's what I do when I'm in a pinch in Singapore. Saves a lot of frustration.
