Yeah, that's pretty common in some Singaporean hawker centres, especially the smaller, more independent ones. A lot of them are family-run businesses, and they might just have limited staffing or prefer to close earlier to balance work and life. It's not necessarily a reflection of the area itself, more a reflection of individual stall owners' choices. Plus, some of the really popular places sell out super fast. You should of tried getting there earlier! Next time, aim for lunch rushes or even earlier if you can swing it.
F1 Pit Building Mystery
So, I'm heading to the F1 Pit Building in Singapore next week. My mate reckons he saw a ghost there once – said it was a mechanic from back in the 60s, always tinkering around with a phantom car. Any… more
Nah, never heard that ghost story, but the Pit Building is kinda creepy at night...all those shadowy corners. Probably just your mate's imagination fueled by too many Singha beers. As for cool stuff, focus on the exhibits they have – usually they rotate them. Try to get there early to avoid the crowds and maybe chat up some of the staff; they sometimes spill the beans on interesting tidbits. Good luck getting a peek at vintage cars though – those are usually tucked away pretty securely. You might find some old photos or something though. Have fun!
