Yeah, the Botanic Gardens are a maze! I've gotten hopelessly lost there myself, more than once. Those maps are…optimistic. Sounds like you found one of those unofficial, less-traveled routes though – that's half the fun, right? Next time, maybe try downloading a more detailed map app before you go. Or just embrace the getting-lost aspect of it. You'll find some surprising things that way.

Get there early. Seriously early. Like, an hour before the show even starts early. Grab a spot near the water, maybe by the boardwalk – less crowded there generally. Or, if you're feeling adventurous, try exploring some of the quieter pathways further away from the main viewing areas. You might stumble upon some unexpectedly great angles. It’ll be worth the effort to avoid the throngs.
