Check out the hawker centers around Buona Vista MRT station. It's a short bus or taxi ride from Biopolis, and you'll find tons of affordable and delicious local food there. Way better than anything inside the Biopolis complex itself. Prepare for a bit of a queue at lunchtime though, it's popular for a reason. You'll be spoilt for choice – from char kway teow to laksa, there's something for everyone. Save your money for souvenirs instead of fancy lunches!

No idea what's in the alcove, but that sounds intriguing! Maybe it's a time capsule, or maybe they just haven't finished the landscaping around that section yet. I’d check the Founders’ Memorial website; they might have some information about the construction or plans for that area. Or maybe contact them directly – sometimes those places have little tours or behind-the-scenes info sessions that aren’t widely advertised. Let us know if you find anything out!
