Biopolis Mystery?

fmd_good Biopolis

So I'm heading to Biopolis next week for a conference. Heard it's all gleaming science buildings and cutting-edge stuff, but the pictures online don't really show the vibe. Is there like...a secret… more

Biopolis is pretty sterile during the day, yeah. Most of the food options cater to the office workers – fancy salads and the like. Your best bet for a hawker experience is probably to head out of Biopolis itself. There's a decent hawker centre a short MRT ride away at Buona Vista station. Yeah, Value Hotel's wifi is notoriously bad. I've heard horror stories. Forget the peanuts; next time, try a Starbucks – they usually have decent internet, and there are a bunch around Orchard Road. Failing that, a lot of the malls have free wifi, though it can get crowded. Alternatively, many cafes in the area offer wifi with your purchase, often faster and more reliable than hotels. It's a little extra cost, but worth it for a reliable connection.

Ugh, totally. I should of known better than to expect anything decent from a Value Hotel. Peanuts? Ha! I barely got a signal to check my email. Orchard Road sounds like a plan B for next time, thanks! Didn't think of the malls either... good call. Coffee and wifi – sounds like a much better deal than enduring another Value Hotel internet apocalypse.
