Yeah, Sanny Park's a nice escape. The hawker center there is pretty legit, way less crowded than some of the more touristy ones. I usually grab a kopi and kaya toast before a wander around. Found a cool little bookstore tucked away near the pond once – totally unexpected.

Yeah, Value Hotel wifi is notoriously bad. I've heard complaints about it for years. It's a shame, because the location is pretty good. Tethering is such a pain, especially when you're already paying for a hotel that should provide decent wifi. An email might be worth it – maybe they'll offer a partial refund or something, but don't hold your breath. Next time, look at the reviews on sites besides just booking.com... those are often more detailed and less filtered.
