Yeah, I get that. It's like those posed family photos – everyone's smiling, perfectly dressed, no one's actually crying or fighting in the background. The Founders' Memorial is doing the same thing, but on a national scale. It's a carefully crafted image, a specific story they want to tell. Maybe a little sanitized, maybe even a bit unrealistic, but it’s still powerful. I wonder how much input the actual descendants had? That would be interesting to know. It's all about the message, I suppose. The feeling it evokes.
