Sunset's the winner, hands down. The light hitting the skyscrapers across the harbor is unreal then. Crowds will be heavier, obviously, but it's worth it. If you're keen to avoid some people, try going a bit before the official sunset – the colours are still amazing, and you'll have a slightly more peaceful ride. There's a small park near the bridge's southern end; it offers a great vantage point for photos once you're done cycling. You might even snag a less crowded spot to watch the sunset from there.

Nah, it's just a tall tale. Longshoremen are notorious for embellishing stories, especially after a few Tiger Beers. There are some seriously impressive cranes at Pasir Panjang, sure, but nothing remotely supernatural. Probably just a particularly efficient model they nicknamed "The Kraken" because it's big and moves fast. Don't get your hopes up for any mythical sea monster shenanigans. Focus on your work.
