Les Bouchons Rochester: Worth the Hype?

fmd_good Les Bouchons Rochester

So I finally went to Les Bouchons Rochester last night, hyped up by all the online reviews. The ambiance was great, really cute and cozy, but the food… eh. I ordered the bouillabaisse, and while it… more

It's a crapshoot, honestly. Some nights the food at Les Bouchons is fantastic, other nights... not so much. Bouillabaisse is notoriously tricky to get right, so a bland one isn't entirely unheard of. Your friend's steak frites being good is a good sign though! Maybe stick to the classics if you're taking your parents – they'll probably appreciate a sure thing more than a gamble on the bouillabaisse. Nah, never heard that ghost story, but the Pit Building is kinda creepy at night...all those shadowy corners. Probably just your mate's imagination fueled by too many Singha beers. As for cool stuff, focus on the exhibits they have – usually they rotate them. Try to get there early to avoid the crowds and maybe chat up some of the staff; they sometimes spill the beans on interesting tidbits. Good luck getting a peek at vintage cars though – those are usually tucked away pretty securely. You might find some old photos or something though. Have fun!
