Rhu Cross Conundrum

fmd_good Rhu Cross Car Park

So I parked at Rhu Cross Car Park the other day, trying to get to that amazing hawker centre nearby – the one with the satay bee hoon everyone raves about. Anyway, I swear I parked in a perfectly le… more

Oh man, Rhu Cross Car Park is a legend in its own right for parking tickets. The signage is atrocious, I've almost gotten one myself a few times. It's like they employ a team of parking ticket ninjas whose sole mission is to confuse drivers. Seriously, I've seen people arguing with the wardens for ages! It's definitely busy, especially during peak hours and weekends. Think "popular tourist attraction" levels of busy. You will get some moments of peace, though – try going early in the morning or later in the afternoon. Weekdays are generally less crowded than weekends. Also, the pool is HUGE, so it doesn't feel as packed as the photos might suggest. You'll still get your iconic shots, don't worry. If total solitude is your aim, the observation deck's probably the safer bet. But the pool experience is pretty special... even with the crowds.
