Biopolis Mystery?

fmd_good Biopolis

So I'm heading to Biopolis next week for a conference. Heard it's all gleaming labs and fancy stuff, but the brochure doesn't mention the *vibe*. Is it all sterile and corporate, or is there any unex… more

Biopolis is pretty much what you'd expect: lots of glass, sharp lines, the whole shebang. But don't despair! There are a few decent places to grab lunch, tucked away from the main drag. It's not exactly overflowing with quirky cafes, but you can find some decent hawker fare within walking distance – nothing fancy, but it'll beat a sad desk sandwich. Check out the food courts near the MRT station; they're usually bustling with locals, which is always a good sign. You'll find more variety outside Biopolis itself, though. Yeah, Value Hotel wifi is notoriously bad. I've heard complaints about it for years. It's a shame, because the location is pretty good. Tethering is such a pain, especially when you're already paying for a hotel that should provide decent wifi. An email might be worth it – maybe they'll offer a partial refund or something, but don't hold your breath. Next time, look at the reviews on sites besides just booking.com... those are often more detailed and less filtered.
