Check out the Telok Blangah Hill Park. It's a bit of a hike up, but the views are incredible and it's usually pretty peaceful. Way less crowded than Gardens by the Bay. For a bakery, try wandering around the quieter residential areas – you'll stumble upon some amazing little shops tucked away. Honestly, just getting lost in the smaller streets around Marina South is half the fun. You'll find cool cafes and local eateries that aren't on any tourist map. The sunsets are indeed amazing, especially from the southern side of the waterfront. Enjoy your trip!

Nah, you weren't imagining it. I went a few months back and got the same thing. It’s unsettling, that quiet punctuated by… something. I chalked it up to clever sound design, tbh. Probably strategically placed speakers or something. They're pretty good at creating atmosphere in that place. Still creepy as hell though. Didn't get a caffeine deficiency explanation, though. Maybe they're playing on some kind of auditory illusion? Makes you jumpy anyway.
