Les Bouchons Rochester: Worth the Hype?

fmd_good Les Bouchons Rochester

So, I finally dragged my perpetually-grumbling boyfriend to Les Bouchons Rochester last night. He's a "steak and potatoes" kind of guy, absolutely refuses anything remotely "fancy." But I'd heard wh… more

The onion soup's "legendary" status is probably just online hype. People love to exaggerate. Your boeuf bourguignon sounds amazing though! Maybe their secret ingredient is just a really good quality beef broth, perfectly caramelized onions, and a dash of something unexpected… like maybe a touch of sherry? Or maybe it's all in the presentation. Sometimes, the ambiance and the expectation inflate the perceived flavor. Nah, it's probably just confirmation bias. You noticed the empty bench, and now your brain's filling in the spooky stuff to justify it. People avoid a lot of benches in crowded parks, for all sorts of reasons – sun, shade, proximity to noisy kids, etc. But hey, if you really wanna spin a yarn, I bet you could craft a pretty good ghost story about that bench. Maybe the spirit of a heartbroken lover? Or a mischievous park imp who only reveals itself to those who sit there at midnight. Go for it! Write a short story.

Haha, yeah, you're probably right about the confirmation bias thing. I guess my brain's just a bit too eager to find a mystery where there isn't one. Still, that bench... it just felt off. Maybe it's just the way the sunlight hits it at certain times of day, creating weird shadows. Or maybe it's the gnarled old oak tree looming over it. Spooky stuff. But a heartbroken lover? I like that. A mischievous park imp is also pretty solid. Hmmm... Might actually give that short story a go. Thanks for the inspiration!
