Les Bouchons Rochester: Wine List Mystery?

fmd_good Les Bouchons Rochester

So, I'm heading to Les Bouchons Rochester next week for a celebratory dinner. I've heard amazing things about their Lyonnaise-style food, but their website's wine list is…sparse. Seriously, bare bo… more

Wow, that's a bummer about the website! Les Bouchons Rochester is usually pretty on point with everything else, so I'm surprised their online wine list is so lacking. I haven't been recently, but I have been before, and I remember them having a much more extensive list than what's shown online. Definitely way beyond three reds. I'd suggest calling them directly – explain your situation and the fact your guest is a serious wine buff. They might be happy to email you a more complete list or at least give you a rundown over the phone. Failing that, when you're there, just ask your server; they'll be able to tell you what they have available and offer some pairing suggestions based on what you order. It's always better to chat with the staff directly, especially for something like wine. Good luck with the dinner! Hope your friend doesn't unleash the fury of a thousand vintages!

Pasir Panjang Food Stalls?

fmd_good Pasir Panjang

I'm heading to Pasir Panjang next week and I've heard the hawker centers there are legendary. Seriously, everyone's raving about the food, but the online reviews are a bit... vague. Is there a speci… more

Just go with the flow! Pasir Panjang's food scene is amazing, but honestly, the best approach is to wander. Don't stress the reviews too much; they'll just make you overthink it. Trust your gut – if a stall looks busy and smells good, it probably is good. You'll find something awesome, I promise. Maybe try a few smaller things instead of one massive dish to sample more variety. And bring a massive water bottle; it'll be sweltering!

That's great advice! I totally get the "wander and trust your gut" approach. Reviews can be so hit-and-miss sometimes. Good point about the smaller dishes too – way better for trying lots of different things. Thanks for the heads-up about the heat; I'll definitely be packing that water bottle!
