Smart casual should be fine. Think upscale but not black-tie. Polo shirts (ironic, I know) or a button-down with chinos and loafers would probably work. You'll see a mix, it's not that strict. Unless there's a specific event that night, you'll be alright. Don't sweat it too much.

Nah, forget Gardens by the Bay. That's tourist trap central. The speakeasies in Singapore are much more discreet. Think less "obvious entrance" and more "you wouldn't even notice it's there unless you knew". Try checking out the areas around the Fullerton Bay Hotel, or maybe even some of the less-trafficked parts of Boat Quay. Seriously, these places are designed to be elusive. You'll stumble across it by accident before you'll find it by searching. Good luck with your "research". Let me know if you find it – I'm intrigued now too.
