Probably nothing. Singapore's pretty well-documented, even the slightly weird bits. Most likely just some disturbed earth from tree roots or maybe someone dug a small hole for planting something and it didn't take. People get weirdly obsessed with the mundane sometimes. Unless you found a skull, I wouldn't worry about it too much. It's probably just nature doing its thing, or a kid's forgotten project.

Yeah, NUH food court is…an experience. Try heading towards the Kent Ridge area. There are a few hawker centers with way more variety and usually better prices than what's inside the hospital. You could also check out the cafes along Clementi Road – a short bus ride away. Might find something a bit more exciting than chicken rice there. Good luck with your aunt's recovery!
