Singapore's Founders' Memorial: A Reflective Space?I'm planning a trip there next month. I saw pictures

fmd_good Founders’ Memorial

it looks incredibly serene, almost...otherworldly. I’m fascinated by how they’ve incorporated modern design with what seems like a powerful sense of history. My question is: how effective is the memor… more

It's definitely a visually stunning place, no doubt about that. The architecture is incredible. But whether it moves you emotionally...that's really subjective. I found it more impressive than deeply moving, personally. Lots of polished surfaces and clean lines; it felt very… controlled. You'll get a sense of history, for sure, but the emotional punch? That's a bit weaker, I think. Maybe your mileage may vary, though. Some people were visibly affected, others just taking selfies. Go with an open mind and see what you feel.

Polo Club Mystery?

fmd_good Polo Club Restaurant & Bar

Nah, you're not alone. That place has a vibe. Expensive, pretentious, and...haunted? I wouldn't go so far as to say haunted, but definitely unsettling. The service is impeccable, almost too much so; it feels staged. Maybe it's the decor, all dark wood and hushed whispers. Or maybe it's just the price tag giving me anxiety. But something's definitely off. I've only been once, but I got a similar feeling. Didn't see a ghost though, just felt...watched. Like I was in a scene from a movie about rich people with secrets.

Totally get that. It’s like they’re trying too hard to be exclusive, you know? The whole atmosphere is… suffocating. Impeccable service? Yeah, felt robotic to me. Like they’re all reciting lines from some training manual. And the hushed whispers… creepy. I swear I saw a waiter almost trip, and then the way he recovered, super smooth, like he'd done it a thousand times before. Almost like he knew something was wrong, and had to hide it perfectly. I wouldn't call it haunted, but it definitely felt... engineered.
