Head down to Maxwell Food Centre. It's a bit of a trek from Marina South, but totally worth it. Skip the fancy stuff the concierge pushes – Maxwell's got amazing, cheap eats. Seriously, you'll find tons of options and it's bustling with locals. Get the Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice – it's legendary for a reason. You won't regret it. Grab a Tiger beer while your at it!

Yeah, I've heard similar things about the Value Hotel near Orchard Road. Air con issues seem to be a pretty common complaint, sadly. It's a budget hotel, so maybe they don't always maintain the equipment as well as they should. Could be just bad luck with your room, but it sounds pretty frustrating! Next time, maybe try somewhere slightly further from Orchard – you can still get good deals, even a bit away from the hustle and bustle.
