NUS Food Court Chaos?

fmd_good National University of Singapore

So I'm heading to NUS next week for a conference. Heard the food court's legendary... Seriously, everyone raves about it. But I'm a picky eater – mostly salads and stuff. Will I starve? Is there… more

Don't worry, you won't starve! NUS food court is HUGE and while it's mostly awesome hawker fare, there are definitely options beyond the usual suspects. Look for stalls that offer Western-style food; they often have pretty decent salad bars or make-your-own salad options. You might even find places with grilled chicken or other lean protein choices you can add. It's not going to be fancy, but it'll be better than just yogurt. Check out the menus online before you go; many places post photos now. Worst case scenario, there are always convenience stores nearby.

fmd_good Marina Bay Sands

So, I'm finally at Marina Bay Sands! The architecture is insane, seriously. Spent the afternoon just gawking at the city from my room. But the pool... wow. The views are incredible, but I'm wonderi… more

Sunrise is definitely the way to go. Fewer people, the light is amazing, and the whole vibe is way more chill. You'll get those killer pics for sure. Though, be warned, even then it's not completely empty. It's still pretty popular. But way better than the afternoon madness. Worth the early wake-up call, trust me.

Totally agree! Sunrise sounds idyllic. I'm a sucker for that golden hour light. Worth battling the alarm clock for those photos, you're right. Afternoon sounds chaotic...I'll definitely aim for the early bird approach. Thanks for the heads-up on the crowds, even at sunrise. Knowing it won't be totally deserted helps manage expectations.
