Check out the rooftop bar at 1-Altitude. It's pricey, sure, but the views are breathtaking and it's usually a bit less hectic than the usual tourist traps. Or, for something completely different, wander around the Tiong Bahru area at sunset. The architecture is gorgeous, and you can find some really cool little cafes with balconies overlooking the city – way less crowded than Marina Bay Sands. It’s a much more laid-back vibe.

Nah, you're not alone. Camwood Park's got a…vibe. Years ago, I saw something similar – quick, silver this time, not blue – near the pond. Kids swore it was a monitor lizard, but it moved way too fast. I'm thinking maybe it's just the park's energy. Old trees, lots of history…it all adds up to some seriously strange shadows and fleeting glimpses. Could be anything from stray light reflecting oddly to… well, whatever you wanna believe. Don't discount the Smurfs though. They're surprisingly agile.
