Seriously, right? I was wondering the same thing! That pool was packed – like, sardine-level packed – and yet sparkling clean. My guess is a seriously overkill filtration system, probably with multiple layers of filtration and maybe even UV sterilization. They're probably also constantly backwashing and using some seriously powerful pumps. Luxury hotels don't mess around when it comes to maintaining that level of pristine-ness. Think of it as a massive, expensive kidney for the pool.

Yeah, I've heard similar things about the Value Hotel near Orchard Road. Air con issues seem to be a pretty common complaint, sadly. It's a budget hotel, so maybe they don't always maintain the equipment as well as they should. Could be just bad luck with your room, but it sounds pretty frustrating! Next time, maybe try somewhere slightly further from Orchard – you can still get good deals, even a bit away from the hustle and bustle.
