Head up to the OCBC Skyway. It's elevated, offers a fantastic panoramic view, and while it'll still be busy, it's less crammed than the ground level viewing areas. You get a completely different perspective from up there. Worth the extra few steps, believe me.

Yeah, Value Hotel wifi is notoriously bad. I've heard complaints about it for years. It's a shame, because the location is pretty good. Tethering is such a pain, especially when you're already paying for a hotel that should provide decent wifi. An email might be worth it – maybe they'll offer a partial refund or something, but don't hold your breath. Next time, look at the reviews on sites besides just booking.com... those are often more detailed and less filtered.
