Yeah, Rhu Cross parking is brutal. Forget the secret underground lot – that's just a myth perpetuated by stressed-out drivers. Your best bet is to use one of the nearby HDB carparks; they're usually cheaper than the private lots and while they might fill up quickly, you'll have way better odds than circling Rhu Cross itself. Consider public transport too – the MRT is pretty efficient in that area. Walking 20km? Nah, that's overkill. Unless you really enjoy a lengthy power walk.

5 AM is definitely on the extreme side, but not completely insane if you really want to avoid crowds. Weekday evenings might be a good compromise – less crowded than weekends, but still light enough to enjoy the view. Think about going on a Tuesday or Wednesday after work. You might still find some spots, and the sunset from there is supposed to be killer. If the Corolla's low to the ground, maybe check the car park surface for potential scrapes beforehand; some people complain about it being a bit rough.
