Seriously, Google Maps is decent for the main roads, but it's hopeless for the back alleys where the real magic happens. Your best bet is probably just accepting the delightful chaos and wandering. Embrace the getting lost; it's part of the charm. Or maybe try one of those old-school paper maps from a bookstore – they sometimes have more detail than the digital versions. Good luck! You'll probably find something amazing again anyway.

Totally get what you mean. Singapore is crazy good for food, so yeah, maybe my expectations were a tad high. The steak frites were definitely okay, nothing to write home about. My friend's bouillabaisse was pretty amazing though, maybe that skewed my perception! Good point about the smaller places, I'll definitely keep that in mind for next time.
